About
Lettuce is a crisp, mild leafy green. It can be any shade of green or reddish to purplish. The leaves can be flat and round or curly and wavy.
Storage
Pre-cut lettuce should be kept in a vented container in the vegetable drawer of the fridge. Heads of lettuce can be kept in containers or bags in the vegetable drawer. Avoid washing until right before you use it, as water makes it deteriorate faster.
Cooking
Eat fresh in a salad. Try it with any salad dressing you have or make your own with oil, vinegar, spices and some salt!
Add anything you like to eat that is room temperature or cold. Cheese, hard-boiled eggs, leftover meat, seeds, chopped or shredded vegetables, and fresh or dried fruit make great additions to any salad.
